Latics looking strong for first leg

Uwe Rosler expects to have a "good pool" to choose from when Wigan host QPR at the DW Stadium.

The Latics manager revealed he had one or two minor knocks but remained tight-lipped on those players' identities with the stakes in their two-legged Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final extremely high.

It remains to be seen whether top scorer Nick Powell, currently on loan from Manchester United, will feature after suffering from tonsillitis of late. Rosler insisted Powell was fit prior to the 4-3 defeat to Blackburn last weekend but the England Under-21 international was not included in the squad.

Wigan are likely to make several changes from the XI which was beaten at Ewood Park with Ali Al Habsi likely to return in goal ahead of second-choice stopper Scott Carson. Ben Watson (broken leg) and fellow midfielder Chris McCann (knee) remain long-term absentees.

QPR will be without Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

The on-loan defender has returned to Tottenham for treatment on a knee injury so Yun Suk-Young could continue at left-back.

Long-term absentees Matty Phillips (ankle) and Ale Faurlin (cruciate) have returned to training but boss Harry Redknapp has ruled them out of featuring in the play-off campaign.

Ravel Morrison, Joey Barton and Richard Dunne return after they were rested against Barnsley on Saturday.
