New signings Sam Morsy and Ryan Colclough set for Wigan debuts

Wigan boss Gary Caldwell could hand new signings Sam Morsy and Ryan Colclough debuts in the Sky Bet League One clash with Port Vale.

Midfielder Morsy, a former Vale player, has signed from Chesterfield while winger Colclough has arrived at the DW Stadium from Crewe.

Midfielder Chris McCann could come back in to contention after the 28-year-old suffered a cracked toe earlier in the month which has seen him sidelined for the last two Latics' games.

Defender Kevin McNaughton is close to regaining full fitness as he makes his way back from a knee injury, but this week's game has come too soon for him to be included.

Port Vale have no fresh injury concerns as they seek out for a fourth win in six games.

Rob Page and his side are looking to keep up the momentum following the 2-1 victory at Doncaster on Tuesday, when they moved up to 10th in the table and closed the gap to the play-off places to three points.

That contest saw striker Ajay Leitch-Smith net a brace that took him to four goals in as many matches and 10 for the season in all competitions.

Midfielder Chris Birchall and winger Enoch Andoh (both knee) were the only players unavailable for selection and that remains the case.
