Yanic Wildschut out of Wigan's plans for Gillingham game

Yanic Wildschut will have to come out of Wigan's starting line-up for Gillingham's Thursday night visit to the DW Stadium.

The forward has returned to Middlesbrough after scoring four times in 17 appearances, although Latics are hopeful they can strike a deal to bring him back this month.

Grant Holt could take his place in the squad after returning from a stint with Wolves but on-loan midfielder Francisco Junior, back at Everton for treatment on a hernia problem, is unlikely to play for Wigan again before his deal expires.

Full-back Kevin McNaughton (knee), the club's only long-term injury absentee, is back in full training.

Striker Luke Norris could be part of Gillingham's travelling squad.

Norris was forced off on Saturday with an ankle injury as the Gills won a fourth straight game, but the problem is not considered too serious and there is a possibility he will not miss any time.

While Dominic Samuel extended his loan from Reading earlier this week, the loan deals of both Chelsea's Jordan Houghton and Cardiff's Adedeji Oshilaja have now expired.

Ben Williamson does bolster Justin Edinburgh's options following his return from a spell with Cambridge.
