Mackay to keep faith

Wigan boss Malky Mackay is unlikely to make too many changes for the visit of Derby after a spirited loss at Middlesbrough.

Josh Murphy was withdrawn at half-time and could make way for Marc Antoine-Fortune.

Jermaine Pennant and Leon Clarke were also pulled off early and could be doubts, with Martyn Waghorn and William Kvist the possible replacements.

James McClean managed 90 minutes in his comeback but Don Cowie (knee), Emyr Huws (ankle) and striker Grant Holt (knee) remain long-term absentees.

Derby are likely to be without George Thorne after he pulled up on Friday night with what looked to be a recurrence of the thigh injury that kept him out for six weeks.

Thorne was making his comeback against Watford but lasted just 29 minutes before he had to be substituted and the midfielder seems set for another spell back on the sidelines.

Leading scorer Chris Martin also made his return from injury as a substitute during the 2-2 draw with the Hornets after a 10-match absence with a hamstring problem.

With the Rams' automatic promotion hopes hanging in the balance in the midst of a seven-game run without a win, head coach Steve McClaren may be tempted to start the 19-goal striker on Monday.
