Tonight's Premier League match between Wigan and Bolton has been postponed due to the freezing weather conditions affecting the North West of England.

Local police and Wigan's safety team concluded that conditions outside the DW stadium are too dangerous for fans planning to attend the game.

Wigan were quick to stress that their pitch is perfectly playable.

In a statement on their website Wigan said: 'The club wishes to apologise to all its supporters, and the supporters of Bolton, but their safety is of paramount importance.'
