Wigan to fail in Valdez move

Paraguay striker Nelson Valdez is set to shun a move to Wigan with the Hercules attacker admitting he would prefer to stay in Spain.[LNB] Wigan have reportedly matched a 4million euros bid for Valdez from La Liga side Getafe but the 27-year-old insists he wants to stay put in Spain, giving Getafe the edge.[LNB]"My agent is dealing with these things but what I can confirm is that I want to play in Spain and not in another country," Valdes said in AS.[LNB]Valdez is currently away at the Copa America, where he has helped Paraguay reach the final, and is expected to sort out his future on his return from the tournament.[LNB]Former Werder Bremen striker Valdez joined unfashionable Hercules from Borussia Dortmund last summer for 3.5million euros but could not prevent the club from being relegated.
