Wigan target Sowah joins Hamburg
Rookie defender Lenny Sowah, a previous target for Wigan, has declined a new deal at Portsmouth and joined German side Hamburg.[LNB] The 17-year-old left-back of German-Ghanaian descent was out of contract at Fratton Park but Pompey will receive compensation because of his age.[LNB]Sowah, who grew up in Hamburg, joined Portsmouth in 2007 and made the first of his five appearances as a substitute against Blackburn in April.[LNB]Later that month he became the first player born after the Premier League was formed to start a Premier League match when he lined up against Aston Villa.[LNB]Sowah had been linked with a move to Wigan.[LNB]Meanwhile, 18-year-old centre-half Luke Wilkinson has joined League One newcomers Dagenham.[LNB]
