Wigan will be boosted by the news that Ecuadorian target Christian Benitez will be made available by his club Santos Laguna.[LNB] The prolific striker, who has scored 10 goals in 17 international appearances for Ecuador, almost joined Wigan in January only for injury to halt proceedings and he has also attracted attention from Villarreal. [LNB]However, Mexican club Laguna will be making their prize asset available for transfer again following a full recovery and vice-president Alberto Canedo hopes Wigan will be back in the market for a striker.[LNB]"Benitez is a very good player and has an international level, he is a player that has been observed by European teams but in this type of things we have to be patient because if the conditions are good for all the parts involved it could be arranged," said Canedo.[LNB]"Regarding the surgery that the player had in his right shoulder, it was something simple, it's not something that is going to interfere in his career. [LNB]"It's a surgery of a total recovery so there isn't any problem and the negotiations aren't going to fail."[LNB]
