Wigan record famous win

Chelsea's proud 100% record under Carlo Ancelotti came to an improbable end with a 3-1 Barclays Premier League defeat at the DW Stadium. Wigan found themselves on the back foot early on and after 11 minutes Ashley Cole picked out Frank Lampard - but his effort went wide of the post. The home side responded and Jason Scotland forced a good block from Petr Cech in the 15th minute - and a minute later Titus Bramble got away from his marker and headed into the net following a cross from Charles N'Zogbia. Chelsea needed only two minutes of the second period to draw level with Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland left red-faced as a soft shot from Didier Drogba squirmed through his legs following a run from Florent Malouda. Cech was given a straight red card for tripping Hugo Rodallega as he raced into the area. Henrique Hilario went in goal - Malouda coming off - and his first job was to pick the ball out of the net with Rodallega converting his spot-kick. Chelsea went down to nine men with Cole going off injured and Scharner scored Wigan's third goal in stoppage-time following Maynor Figueroa's cross.
