Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt has undergone elbow surgery but should be fit to return before the end of the season.[LNB]The 39-year-old has been the regular deputy to Ali Al Habsi this season but has made only one Barclays Premier League appearance, as a substitute, on January 5.[LNB]However, the out-of-favour Chris Kirkland replaced him on the bench for Saturday's defeat at Sunderland, allowing Pollitt to have an operation yesterday, having undergone a similar procedure on his other elbow last term.[LNB] No 1: Ali Al Habsi occupies top spot at Wigan but Mike Pollitt has been regular deputy to the keeper this season[LNB]'Mike went in yesterday for surgery to clean up the joint around his elbow,' manager Roberto Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post.[LNB]'It was just a matter of wear and tear - he had the same problem with his other elbow last year and that was corrected very quickly too.
