Chris Kirkland took revenge on Burnley fans, who struck him with a missile, by celebrating wildly in front of them when Wigan scored an injury-time winner.

But the former England goalkeeper's joy at winning this derby was overshadowed by his fears that players will continue being hit by objects from the crowd.

The FA will launch an investigation after reading referee Mike Jones' report on Monday.
