Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has given his full support to Steve Bruce following the manager's criticism of Amr Zaki.[LNB] Bruce has vowed to fine the Egyptian heavily after he failed to return from international duty on time.[LNB]The Latics manager also described Zaki as the most 'unprofessional' player he had coached and a 'nightmare to deal with'.[LNB]Whelan backs Bruce completely and has suggested that the on-loan striker may have jeopardised his chances of earning a permanent deal.[LNB]"I will back Steve Bruce absolutely to the hilt," Whelan told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"Whatever penalty he wants Zaki to pay this time, if he cancels his contract, I am absolutely 100 per cent behind him.[LNB]Unbelievable"Steve will not be messed about by anyone. Zaki is only on loan and he's desperate to get a contract with us so for him not to return for the third or fourth time is unbelievable.[LNB]"If he behaves like this, he is going to find it very, very difficult to have a future at Wigan Athletic."[LNB]Zaki made an excellent start to his Wigan career but the goals have dried up since the turn of the year and Whelan believes he should have been more willing to take advice from Bruce.[LNB]"He has not scored any goals for the last two months, ten weeks or so," said Whelan.[LNB]"He gets a little bit frustrated and instead of listening to somebody like Steve Bruce who can help him and push him along, he decides to go along on his own route and in cases like this it is absolutely unforgivable."[LNB]
