Watson confident Latics will stay up
Midfielder Ben Watson is convinced Wigan can avoid relegation despite a difficult string of matches.
Roberto Martinez's struggling side have three successive games on the road against Chelsea, Blackburn and Sunderland.
Only eight points separate 12 clubs and Watson said: "I don't think it has ever been this open.
"Anyone who takes it for granted that they are safe could find themselves in big trouble after a couple of defeats.
"Similarly if we can put together a couple of wins we'll find ourselves out of the bottom three.
"There is a confidence in the squad we will survive."
