Victor Moses called into Nigeria national squad

Former England youth international Victor Moses has been called up to Nigeria's senior squad after FIFA validated his new national status on Monday.[LNB]Wigan midfielder Moses, 20, was included in a 28-man squad announced on Thursday for Nigeria's friendly internationals against Botswana and Zambia in November.[LNB]Moses has represented England at under-16, under-17, under-19 and under-21 levels, but in March attemptedto play for the country of his birth against Ethiopia.[LNB] Tricky: Moses has been hard to handle this season[LNB]Nigeria applied to change his national status but FIFA could not complete the process in time and warned Nigeria that if they fielded an ineligible player they would forfeit the match and pay a fine of at least ?6,500.[LNB]Italy-based forward Edward Ofere of Lecce was also picked in the Nigerian squad for the first time, as new coach Stephen Keshi gets to grips with his challenge.[LNB]Keshi was appointed on Wednesday to replace Samson Siasia, who was fired after the Super Eagles failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations 2012.
