Van Aanholt staying positive

On-loan full-back Patrick van Aanholt hopes he can contribute to Wigan's cause at both ends of the field as they bid to end their losing run.[LNB] The Holland Under-21 international signed on a season-long loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day and has since made three appearances in a sequence of four successive defeats for Roberto Martinez's side.[LNB]"I'm a team player but I still need to get used to the team," Van Aanholt told the club's official website. "As I play more I'll get used to the team and after it will be fine.[LNB]"We've just got to keep confident. It's going to be a great week for us to get together and improve as a team. We need to go out next week against Villa and we've got to get three points we know we're capable of."[LNB]A half-time reshuffle in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Tottenham saw Van Aanholt pushed forward into a left midfield role and he would relish more such opportunities.[LNB]He added: "It's always good to get up the pitch but you start off defending so that's what you have to do first and other things are just a plus."
