Swans confident Martinez will stay

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed the club have yet to receive an approach from Wigan or Celtic for manager Roberto Martinez. Martinez has been heavily linked with former club the Latics and the vacant managerial position at Parkhead but Jenkins was quick to quash the rumours. Martinez, 35, made close to 200 appearance for Wigan, who are facing an uncertain managerial future after current boss Steve Bruce refused to rule himself out of the running for the Sunderland job. And Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post: "It is quite natural every time something happens at Wigan that Roberto is brought into it because of his personal links. But I have had no contact with either Wigan or Celtic and nor do I expect to. "Roberto is under contract here and we are both aware of the targets this club has. "We want to get into the Premier League. I feel we can do that with Roberto and he feels he can do it with Swansea."
