Spireites close to Montrose deal

Chesterfield have agreed a deal in principle with Wigan to turn Lewis Montrose's loan deal into a permanent move this summer.The 20-year-old, who also had a spell on loan at Cheltenham this season, is due to return to Saltergate next week after receiving treatment with the Latics on his knee ligament injury.Manager Lee Richardson told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We've got an agreement in principle to sign him [Montrose] so we are hopeful of finalising a deal."We are hopeful Lewis will be training with us next week so he should be available for the final match of the season against Bradford City."He has done well.
