Spencer confirms retirement
The club have today announced that Brenda Spencer is set to retire over the summer from her position as Chief Executive following 24 years of loyal service to the club. Speaking to the club's official website, Spencer said: "Wigan Athletic has been my life for the past 24 years and it has been an incredible journey. To think that we are in the Premier League for a 6th season is another testament to all that has been achieved here and it's going to be very strange not being involved on a day to day basis any more."But of course, I will be watching avidly and cheering on the team from the sidelines."
