Scotland issues plea to Bodde

Former Swansea striker Jason Scotland has urged Ferrie Bodde to join him at Wigan.[LNB] The Dutch midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League club since his mentor, Roberto Martinez, left Swansea to become Wigan's manager earlier in the summer.[LNB] "Ferrie is a very good player and obviously it would be great to have him here," Scotland told the Wigan Evening Post.[LNB] "He did great for Swansea while I was there and sometimes a player has to take the next step up. We'll have to wait and see what happens but hopefully he will come here and do well.[LNB] "He has many qualities but in Holland they gave him the nickname of 'the Dutch Roy Keane', which says a lot. I know a few clubs have been in for him and that tells its own story for you."
