Scotland issues plea to Bodde

Former Swansea striker Jason Scotland has urged Ferrie Bodde to join him at Wigan. The Dutch midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League club since his mentor, Roberto Martinez, left Swansea to become Wigan's manager earlier in the summer. "Ferrie is a very good player and obviously it would be great to have him here," Scotland told the Wigan Evening Post. "He did great for Swansea while I was there and sometimes a player has to take the next step up. We'll have to wait and see what happens but hopefully he will come here and do well. "He has many qualities but in Holland they gave him the nickname of 'the Dutch Roy Keane', which says a lot. I know a few clubs have been in for him and that tells its own story for you."
