Wigan utility man Paul Scharner is looking to fulfil one of his long-term ambitions by helping the club qualify for Europe this season. The Latics currently sit seventh in the Premier League and finishing in that position will almost certainly ensure they claim a spot in next season's inaugural Europa League.Scharner has previously been linked with a move away from the JJB Stadium, but the Austrian insists he would have no reason to leave if the club maintain their current form. He told the Wigan Evening Post: "If we get a European slot, maybe there is no hassle of changing anything. We are seventh now in the table with 41 points, and I'm very confident we can finish in our best ever position."How long have we been in the top half of the table now? Quite a long time. "I know it is a close league but I never got the feeling we would drop down towards the relegation positions. Now we've got to push on in the last eight games and see what we can achieve."
