Rams keen to keep Commons

Nigel Clough does not want to see Kris Commons leave Derby this summer but would not turn down 'silly money'. The Scotland international was brought to Pride Park from Nottingham Forest last summer by former boss Paul Jewell and remains a key part of Clough's plans. The Pride Park boss accepts that the highly-rated winger will draw admiring glances from elsewhere, but will only sanction an unwanted sale if it generates enough funds to allow him to significantly strengthen his squad. Wigan are the latest club to be linked with Commons with a £5million bid reported to be under consideration, with Clough accepting that some offers are just too good to turn down. He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "Kris is a player that will probably attract interest but we have always taken the line that every player has a price. "If somebody wants to give us what we consider silly money and it would mean we can rebuild, then every player has his price in those circumstances. "But we certainly have no plans to do that at the moment."
