Rams closing in on deal for Cywka

Derby are making progress in their bid to sign Poland Under-21 international striker Tomasz Cywka from Wigan.[LNB] Cywka, who has impressed in starting the last three matches for the Rams, is on loan from the Latics until the end of the season.[LNB]He is out of contract this summer and Wigan have an option to extend his deal, but Derby hope to sign the 21-year-old forward on a permanent basis.[LNB]"We would love to get him on board next season and we are getting closer to that," manager Nigel Clough told the Derby Telegraph.[LNB]"We are moving on a little bit further with it. I think next week things will become much clearer and we are still very hopeful."[LNB]Clough added: "Tomasz has certainly enjoyed it here and we have given him the opportunity to play. He is also the sort of player we feel can improve."
