Hartlepool have completed the loan signing of Wigan's teenage goalkeeper Lee Nicholls. The 19-year-old, who appeared on the bench for the Premier League side for the first time last January, will stay at Victoria Park for an initial month and will challenge fellow loanee Jake Kean, who has stepped in for injured pair Scott Flinders and Andy Rafferty. Caretaker-manager Mick Wadsworth said: "We're delighted that Wigan have allowed us to bring Lee in to our squad. "Gary Walsh knows all about him and how good a young keeper he is, so we're looking forward to working with him during his spell with us." Nicholls is expected to be named on the bench for the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at Sheffield Wednesday.
