Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt is sad to see Steve Bruce go - but hopes he is replaced by old boss Paul Jewell.[LNB] Bruce is set to switch to Sunderland after two successful seasons at the JJB Stadium - first in keeping Wigan in the top flight, then guiding them to their recent 11th-placed finish.[LNB]While disappointed that Bruce is set for the exit and taking his backroom staff with him, 37-year-old Pollitt hopes Jewell will now return to the club.[LNB]Pollitt told the Wigan Evening Post: "It's disappointing that the gaffer is going after what he's done here.[LNB]"But I suppose when someone is offered a job like that with the promise of a lot of money to spend, then they have to take it.[LNB]Sad"I'll be sad to see him go, and it's likely Eric Black and Nigel Spink will go with him. [LNB]"I've enjoyed working with all of them, Nigel has been a great goalkeeping coach for Chris Kirkland and myself - he brought with him some very good ideas.[LNB]"Training was good and you get used to working with people - no one really likes change do they?[LNB]"Life goes on, though. I've worked under Paul Jewell, Chris Hutchings, Frank Barlow when he was caretaker, and Steve Bruce during my time here. Now it will be interesting to see who comes in. [LNB]"Steve did a great job, he turned us round because we really were in dire straits when he joined the club.[LNB]"He quickly got us playing some decent stuff, kept us up in that first season, and then had us high up the league table last season. [LNB]"We fell away a bit at the end, although I'm sure most fans would have taken 11th place had they been offered it before a ball was kicked.[LNB]Upheaval"It's going to be another summer of upheaval now, I do wonder who will be in charge when we report back for pre-season training on 8th July." [LNB]As well as Jewell, other candidates thought to be in the frame for the Latics hot-seat include Swansea boss Roberto Martinez and Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson. [LNB]Pollitt added: "I would like Paul Jewell to come back, that's my personal view. I got on well with him here the first time and I think he'd do a good job. [LNB]"Roberto Martinez would be an interesting one, totally different to what we've had before - he's had Swansea playing with a bit of Spanish flair and likes good football.[LNB]"I'd say he would be the fans' favourite and he's certainly got the credentials."[LNB]
