Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt believes Roberto Martinez would be an "interesting" choice as the club's new manager.[LNB]With Steve Bruce having joined Sunderland on Wednesday afternoon, Martinez, the current Swansea boss and a former Wigan player has emerged as a leading contender to replace him after the Latics made an approach for him on Tuesday.[LNB]And although Pollitt would prefer for Paul Jewell to make a return to the club, he is confident Martinez would be a good choice.[LNB]"I would like Paul Jewell to come back, that's my personal view," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "I got on well with him here the first time and I think he'd do a good job.[LNB]"Roberto Martinez would be an interesting one, totally different to what we've had before. "He's had Swansea playing with a bit of Spanish flair and likes good football. I'd say he would be the fans' favourite and he's certainly got the credentials."[LNB]Martinez is due back from holiday on Wednesday evening and is set to meet with Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins to discuss Wigan's approach as well as the one made by Celtic on Monday.
