Paul Jewell can sparkle at Arsenal by making Ipswich believe, says Jason Roberts

Paul Jewell has been this way before. Five years ago he was in charge of underdogs Wigan when they went to Arsenal with a 1-0 lead in the Carling Cup and knocked out the Gunners on away goals. [LNB]Sportsmail asked Jason Roberts, who scored the crucial goal in the last minute of extra-time, for the inside track on how Ipswich's new boss will try to do it again...  [LNB] Cup cracker: Roberts (left) pounces at the death to send Wigan through at the expense of the Gunners[LNB]'I'd like to tell you there was some brilliant and intricate tactical plan, but actually the secret was the complete opposite. [LNB]'I don't think his team talk lasted more than a sentence or two. He picked 11 players, put us in a 4-4-2, and told us to go out, work hard and enjoy it. [LNB]'I'd expect that's exactly how he'll approach this trip to the Emirates and, odd as it may seem, it is probably the best way. [LNB]'If you start to fill players' heads with big dossiers about a team who are man for man so much better then it only creates doubt and uncertainty. [LNB] 'Paul Jewell's big asset is that he's relaxed, confident and that sort of feeling transmits to the players. [LNB]'We sort of thought: "He's not worried so why should we be?" [LNB]Tough task: Ipswich boss Jewell heads for Arsenal[LNB]'The longer Ipswich can stay in the tie the more they will believe. In that game even though Thierry Henry brought Arsenal level on aggregate we always felt we had a chance. [LNB]'Sometimes managers will focus on trying to make sure you get a game to go to penalties, but he was talking at the start of extra-time about how we could win the match and again that gets inside your head.[LNB] 'I also think it will help Ipswich that they are at the Emirates, while our match was at Highbury. I've played at both and there's no doubt the atmosphere at Arsenal's new ground isn't so intimidating.[LNB]'There might be more people but they are further away and there isn't the same noise. You don't get that feel of history that the old marble halls used to give you either. [LNB]'Sometimes you could see players get all trembly just walking into the dressing rooms.[LNB] 'I'm really pleased to see our old gaffer back in the game and from what I'm told he's already got people cracking a joke and enjoying their work at his new club. [LNB]'Reach Wembley and they'll be enjoying it even more.'
