Charles N'Zogbia has not travelled with the squad on the pre-season tour of Austria prompting speculation that his departure from the Latics is imminent. The 24 year old French international winger has expressed his desire to leave the Latics following on from his sensational season. There is no shortage of potential suitors for N'Zogbia but the Latics are holding out for a £10 million transfer fee. Aston Villa are this weekend expected to launch a renewed bid after seeing their latest offer of £9 million rejected following the news that N'Zogbia has been left behind. N'Zogbia used his twitter account to deny rumours that he is on strike when he posted: "I'm not on strike !! I'm training normally, u don't have to read what the Newspapers saying... Its not true !!" Speaking about the move, Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish said: “It is imperative that we get a quality player into the football club to replace Stewart Downing. I would love it to happen quickly, but it’s not me, the administration side is not my department.” Meanwhile, Latics owner Dave Whelan confirmed that there are other clubs interested in N'Zogbia's signature. He told Sky Sports: "(Villa) are not the sole bidders, there are another couple of clubs who are desperate to sign him. "It depends how much they can pay up front, because we have got to re-spend that £10million this season just to replace Charles."
