New-look Canaries looking up

The Norwich squad is in confident mood ahead of the visit of Wigan Athletic on Saturday, according to manager Bryan Gunn. The game against the Premier League outfit wraps up the Canaries' pre-season preparations, where they remain unbeaten in eight friendly matches over the past three weeks. "From a confidence point of view we're gaining from the fact we've been playing well and working hard in games," Gunn told the club's official website. "If we can gain more against a Premiership side like Wigan then I see that as a better way of going into the Colchester game than going in after a bad performance. "The fact that we're unbeaten so far this pre-season builds our confidence and over the past couple of season perhaps we've had too much of a losing mentality." Gunn added that his host of new signings - Jens Berthel Askou and Goran Maric were his 11th and 12th of pre-season - have been crucial to this turnaround in outlook. "The new signings have come in with a strong mental capacity and winning mentality - right from day one with the first signing Matty Gill, he's had back-to-back promotions with Exeter and knows what it feels like to win and be successful."
