Myaichi targets Reading return

Ryo Myaichi has endured a frustrating time with the Latics to date but the young Japanese winger is hoping that is about to change.

Myaichi is on loan from Arsenal and has not featured for the Latics since his substitute appearance against Liverpool in November.

The 20 year has suffered from both groin and ankle injuries and has been forced to spend an increased amount of time in the treatment room.

However Myaichi has targetted the forthcoming fixture with Reading, a week on Saturday, for his return to action.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "I had a groin injury at first when I was with the national team last year.

"That injury put me out for a few months and then I came back in the game against Liverpool at Anfield and after that game I picked up an ankle injury which has made things frustrating.

"I trained after that game and it made my ankle worse but I can learn many things from this injury".

"It is important now for us to win as many games as possible because we are desperate to stay in the Premier League.

"I want to be able to help the team in achieving safety in the Premier League and it will be great to show the supporters what I can do once I am back."

The return of Myaichi cannot come soon enough for the Latics who are crying out for direct winger who can take on a full back.
