Roberto Martinez has revealed that Victor Moses is set to sign a new deal with the club should Premier League status be confirmed.

The 21 year old presently has eighteen months to run on his contract and Martinez is keen to avoid the problems as experienced with Momo Diame and Hugo Rodallega who look set to leave on free transfers at hte end of the season.

Talks have been ongoing with Moses over a new deal and Martinez has revealed that the promsing forward has agreed to sign a new deal should the Latics survive for an eighth year in the top flight.

"There have been developments," said Martinez. "I am sure we are going to be able to extend his contract.

"He said he wants to stay but we have got to secure our top flight status. You do not see many players like him. Charles N'Zogbia is one, Messi is another."

Moses was instrumental in the winning goal against Bolton at the weekend and is likely to play a big part for hte Latics if survival is to be achieved.
