Melchiot confident of Wigan survival

Wigan captain Mario Melchiot is confident relegation from the Premier League will still be avoided this season.[LNB] Latics looked to be in a healthy position a week ago but defeat to Manchester City on Monday coupled with a win for Hull over the weekend has left them with work to do.[LNB]Wigan are now just four points above the Premier League relegation zone in 16th having played a game more than 18th-placed Hull.[LNB]Melchiot told the club's website: "Everyone knows we are a great side, we've all got that belief.[LNB]"The only thing is that we just haven't had the luck you need at this level to help us get what we've deserved.[LNB]"It's all still in our own hands which is the most important thing, and that's the situation you want going into the final games of the season."[LNB]
