McManaman a doubt with ankle injury

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed forward Callum McManaman is still being troubled by an ankle injury ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League home clash with Norwich.

With no disciplinary action being taken against McManaman over his controversial tackle on Massadio Haidara in the 2-1 league defeat of Newcastle on March 17, he is eligible for selection this weekend.

But Martinez has emphasised the 21-year-old has been carrying an ankle problem, sustained in the 3-0 FA Cup win at Everton on March 9, and will need to be assessed over the next few days.

"Callum's been carrying an injury to his ankle, which caused him to be substituted against both Newcastle and Everton," said Martinez, quoted on www.wigantoday.net.

"Our major concern now is making sure he's fully fit and able to take to the field against Norwich.

"He hasn't trained with the rest of the team yet, and the next 48 hours will be crucial."
