McDonald happy at Celtic

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has been warned off making a second bid to land Celtic striker Scott McDonald when the transfer window re-opens in January. Martinez failed with a later offer for the Australian last week prior to the window closing on the summer's activities. It is understood Martinez will try to resurrect a deal early next year, however, McDonald's agent, Lou Sticca, has told the Spaniard he would be wasting his time. "My understanding was there was a tentative approach made to Celtic that was flatly rejected," Sticca told the Wigan Evening Post. "As far as Scott is concerned, he has three more years on his contract with Celtic and all he wants is to win as much silverware as possible for the club he has supported from childhood. "Some players never win anything and very few actually play for the club they supported from childhood. In Scott's case he is doing both."
