McArthur handed trial with Latics

Hamilton midfiedler James McArthur has accepted an offer to spend a week on trial at Premier League club Wigan later this month.[LNB] Latics boss Roberto Martinez has openly expressed an interest in the Hamilton star.[LNB]Now the 22-year-old is hoping to show he is good enough to join former Accies team-mate James McCarthy in the English top flight.[LNB]McArthur told the Herald: "I'm going to Wigan in a few weeks' time, it's a chance for me to see what's down there and how good the standard is.[LNB]"I've spoken to James and he has told me what the Premiership is like and how everything is run down there.[LNB]"He's done excellently and there's no reason why I can't go down and prove myself good enough as well."
