M'Bami hopeful on Latics deal

Modeste M'Bami remains in a relaxed mood as he attempts to land a permanent contract at Wigan. The Cameroon international has joined the Latics on trial after parting company with Marseille at the end of last season. Having been without a club for pre-season training, he is still some way short of match fitness. Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has revealed that no decision will be taken on M'Bami's future until he rediscovers that sharpness. However, the 26-year-old midfielder is confident he is closing in on peak physical condition and believes he could offer something to the Latics squad. "I am happy. I know time is on my side," M'Bami told skysports.com. "It is good to be here and I am working towards my best physical shape. "Coach Martinez knows my credentials, so let's wait and see what happens in the next week or so. "I have good experience from playing for big teams in the African Nations Cup and the Champions League, so I think I will be fine."
