Wigan manager Roberto Martinez admitted Gary Caldwell's dismissal at Eastlands was a "key moment" in Manchester City's 3-0 win on Monday night.[LNB] Carlos Tevez found himself the centre of controversy after steering City to a crucial victory in their bid for Champions League football.[LNB]The Argentina striker took his tally to 25 for the season after scoring all three goals.[LNB]They all came in the space of the 13 second-half minutes following the dismissal of Latics defender Caldwell.[LNB]City in the process raised their hopes of a Champions League slot after moving above Liverpool and into fifth place.[LNB]Martinez was incensed, however, and rounded on referee Stuart Attwell for dismissing Caldwell in the 55th minute.[LNB]He said: "It was a key moment. I felt we were growing into the game. We were getting Manchester City a little bit frustrated. I thought we were going to finish the game strongly.[LNB]"I cannot understand how you can give something you can't see. To give a red card you have to be certain. Then you are looking at the replay, it is no way it is a red-card offence.[LNB]"Gary said he went in really strong and got the ball. Carlos Tevez saw it and jumped off the ground, he's the one who left both feet.[LNB]"We are all human beings and we all make mistakes but to give a decision after something you don't see that is lying. You are making it up. That is hard to take.[LNB]"He (the referee) said he saw Gary Caldwell with both feet off the ground. That's why he gave the red card. But Gary Caldwell only went with one foot.[LNB]"That's a real injustice. My players dont deserve to be feeling the way they are now."[LNB]With Wigan losing a defender, Tevez took full advantage with goals in the 72nd, 74th and 85th minutes to give City the victory they were looking for.[LNB]He celebrated by waving a shin-pad with the nickname of his daughter Flopy on it - and was booked for going into the crowd after his final strike.[LNB]Manager Roberto Mancini said: "It was a good performance by Carlos. He scored three important goals and we won this game. I am happy with him.[LNB]"He is scoring a lot of goals and has always been a good player. He is a young player, who is improving every year.[LNB]"We played better in the second half. It was important we changed the tempo and we did that."
