After two away day fixtures, Latics boss Roberto Martinez is ready for the comforts of the DW Stadium this weekend as Everton are the visitors. The Latics endured mixed emotions on their travels after a 3-1 victory over relegation rivals Blackpool, before a disappointing 4-2 reverse against Sunderland. With seventh placed Everton the visitors to the DW Stadium this weekend, the Latics are said to be in buoyant mood with three points the target. Speaking to the club's official website, manager Roberto Martinez said: "Playing at home against Everton is always a tight game and we're looking forward to allowing our fans to play an even bigger role in our performance again. "The home fans had a big influence on Saturday's game, they affect decisions on the pitch and were a big positive for Sunderland."They felt as though things were going against them; a goal down and then losing both of their strikers through injury, but they created an environment that inspired their team."That's why home fixtures are very important; we've got two left now and must use them to our advantage." The Latics boss was complimentary about David Moyes' team ahead of the weekend's fixture, he added: "As always Everton have a mixture of experience and quality in their side which allows them to compete on the day and make life very difficult for their opponents."They were very unfortunate not to get anything from Old Trafford having produced some fantastic results in recent weeks."They're a team without many weaknesses who'll be very tough to break down, but we've a real need for points at the moment and whether we get them or not will be decided by our performance and the help from our fans."We need everyone together. We're all ready to help the club achieve its aim of staying in the Premier League and that fight continues on Saturday against Everton."Let's get rid of the frustration from the Stadium of Light, understand what needs to change and use our maturity to control the emotional side of the game."
