Martinez: Latics need a break

Roberto Martinez believes the international break has come at the right time for Wigan due to their lack of "a good momentum".[LNB] The Latics have suffered four successive defeats in the Premier League to slip to 18th in the table after previously picking up five points from their opening three matches.[LNB]Martinez is also missing key players due to injury and feels the respite from club action could prove to be beneficial for his Wigan side following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa.[LNB]"You never want to stop a good momentum, but I don't think we can say we have that," he told the Evening Post. "So in that respect it's maybe a good time to be having an international break.[LNB]"It gives us time to work hard to get everyone back on the field, and try to regain that competition for places that has served us well."[LNB]The Wigan boss is not panicking about the club's current standing in the table and feels small margins have contributed to his side's current points total.[LNB]He added: "We always talk about small margins for error in the Premier League, and that is the case again this season.[LNB]"We are sitting there on five points from our seven games, but it could so easily have been seven points had we converted our penalty at Swansea.[LNB]"That puts you in a completely different position, and we need to force those margins our way. Once we do that, we'll be fine."
