Martinez demands Latics response

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez expects his team to respond in a positive way when they take on champions Chelsea at the weekend. Latics' Barclays Premier League campaign began in embarrassing fashion as they were thrashed 4-0 by promoted Blackpool last Saturday. They now face a daunting visit from Carlo Ancelotti's men, who hammered Wigan 8-0 on the final day of last season, but Martinez is upbeat. The Spaniard told the club's website: "Straight away I have seen a very positive reaction in the players and we can't wait to be on the pitch on Saturday. "That is a great sign but there are many things we need to learn from Saturday, certain aspects we cannot repeat. "It is the reaction I am focused on. I want to see the players being ready and showing the things we didn't do on Saturday."
