It was a quite transfer window at the DW Stadium and the anticipated final day flourish didn't materialise as Roberto Martinez decided to stick with what he's got.

The Latics had been rumoured to be signing anyone of Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard, Fulham forward Andy Johnson, or Watford centre back Adrian Mariappa.

None of the deals came off for various reasons and the Latics managed to keep hold of Hugo Rodallega in spite of interest from Tottenham, Fulham, and Q.P.R.

Now, Roberto Martinez, who had previously admitted he wanted to bring in 'one or two' new faces is happy with what he has for hte remainder of the season.

Speaking to the Wigan Evening Post, the Latics boss said: “I’m quite happy to go with the squad we have got.

“Through the last two or more seasons the whole squad know what it takes to be competitive until the last day of the season and to survive in this league. It’s not about bringing players in for the sake of it.”

The only addition of the window was Chilean winger Jease Beausejour from Birmingham City for a fee believed to be in the region of £2 million.

Youngsters Jordan Mustoe and Nouha Dicko have respectively joined Barnet and Blackpool on loan for the rest of the season.
