Martinez confirms Boselli stay

Despite enduring a difficult half season with the Latics, Mauro Boselli is set to remain with the Latics after potential suitors failed to meet the asking price demanded. Boselli has endured a tough time with the club as he adapts to the Premier League and the English game. Latics boss Roberto Martinez would have been happy to offload the striker in January had a potential suitor been found. Italian club Bari seemed to be favourites for the Argentinian striker but they failed to offer the necessary fee to tempt Martinez to sell. Boselli it would seem is going nowhere as Martinez looks to further push Boselli's adaptation to English life. Speaking to the press, Martinez said: “If we wanted to put Mauro in the market we would make money, but we don’t want to do that. "We want Mauro here. The work now is for us to adapt to Mauro and for him to adapt to the British game. It is a football puzzle we have in our hands and we have to put it together. “We are not far away from finding the solution to that puzzle, but speculation about him will not stop – especially coming from leagues in Spain and Italy, where goalscorers like him are hard to find.” Boselli joined the club for a fee of almost £6 million in the summer as Estudiantes cashed in on their main asset. A quick look at his goalscoring record reveals that Boselli is no mug and should he start to find hte net, the Latics faithful will no doubt warm to him quickly. CLICK HERE FOR THE MESSAGEBOARD
