Martinez backs Boselli

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has backed striker Mauro Boselli to come good in the Barclays Premier League. Boselli arrived at the DW Stadium during the summer from Estudiantes, where he had an impressive goalscoring record, but the Argentinian is yet to find the net for his new club in four league starts and a Carling Cup tie at Hartlepool. Last weekend he missed a gilt-edged chance as the Latics were held 1-1 at home by Sunderland and was substituted soon after, but Martinez is confident the 25-year-old will rediscover his touch in front of goal before long. "He will come good, and he has been good in many aspects and many areas," Martinez said. "Mauro, like any other player, needs a bit of a settling-in period because the Premier League is completely different to any other league in world football. But if you look at the adjustments as a new player you need to make to get to being yourself in the Premier League, it takes a little bit of time. "Mauro is a proven goal-scorer with a fantastic talent and we will get to enjoy his football at Wigan Athletic very, very soon."
