Follow Sportsmail's coverage of the Barclays Premier League where Manchester City host Wigan at the DW Stadium. Both sides will be desperate for three points for different reasons as they sit at opposite ends of the table. Email me your thoughts on the game at dan.ripley@dailymail.co.uk[LNB] Manchester City 1-0 Wigan (5.30pm)Man City: Hart, Richards, Kompany,Lescott, Zabaleta, Vieira, Barry, Silva (De Jong 84), Toure Yaya, Balotelli (Kolarov 69), Tevez (Dzeko 86).Subs: Taylor, Kolarov, Boateng, Jo, Boyata.[LNB]Goals: Silva 38.[LNB]Wigan: Al Habsi, Lopez (Gohouri 84), Gary Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa, Watson,Diame (Sammon 84), Moses (N'Zogbia 60), McCarthy, Cleverley, Rodallega.Subs: Pollitt, Thomas, Di Santo, Gomez.[LNB]Referee: Stuart Attwell (Warwickshire) [LNB]19.33: For Wigan I fear for them now, they are just not confident enough in front of goal and now lie four points from safety at the bottom of the table.[LNB]That's it from me here thank you for following and don't forget to check back for Sposrtmail's coverage of the Premier league tomorrow, where Wolves take on Tottenham and of course the big one at half-past-one Liverpool v Manchester United.[LNB]19.30: Four points behind Arsenal, seven behind Manchester United...stranger things have happened you know.[LNB]A punishing trip awaits though as they travel to Ukraine and Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League next.[LNB]19.28: City got away with that in truth, but a win is a win and even if Mancini does not believe it, City still have an outside shot of the title.[LNB]Full-time: Manchester City 1-0 Wigan[LNB]90+4min: What a chance! Sammon shows brilliant creative play to start a one-two with Rodallega before firing wide by the slightest of margins across goal from eight yards out.[LNB]It would have been a superb goal and he probably should have scored.[LNB]90+3min: Well the City fans think it's over, they are streaming out the ground.[LNB]90+2min: Oh, four minutes added on.[LNB]90+1min: That is a brilliant chance. First Sammon fails to take the ball with him as he enters the penalty box then unmarked Rodallega's low effort lacks any power to trouble Hart.[LNB]89min: Not long left and this half has been a bit of a stinker, Wigan are not exactly making the hosts defend their lead here and the game has hit a very slow tempo.[LNB]86min: And the final change of the game, as Tevez makes way for Edin Dzeko.[LNB]84min: Another sub from either side. Nigel de Jong replaces the goal scorer David Silva while for Wigan, Conor Sammon replaces Mohamed Diame.[LNB]82min: The visitors are running out of ideas. N'Zogbia with an effort that smacks of desperation 25 yards out that was never going to trouble Hart.[LNB]81min: Wigan not as threatening as they were earlier in the half and City seem to be strolling towards a comfortable 1-0 victory.[LNB]78min: City fans have really taken to this 'turnaround and jump' dance thing, They are at it again while there is a lull in play.[LNB]For those who have neglected the Europa League this season, it came about after Lech Poznan supporters constantly did it on their trip to Eastlands earlier in the season.[LNB]75min: Home fans getting a bit fed-up of this, Kolarov hits in a cross that is too high for everyone and a few annoyed groans come from around the ground.[LNB]72min: There has been hardly any attack worth mentioning from City this half, Balotelli coming off is not the tonic to change that.[LNB] If Wigan score they will fully deserve it because they have played all the football this half.[LNB] At full stretch: Kompany (right) attempts to tackle Cleverley[LNB]69min: Change from both sides. Aleksandar Kolarov is on for Balotelli, while Steve Gohouri replaces Lopez for Wigan.[LNB]Not a great debut for the Spaniard but I have seen worse players in the Premier League.[LNB]67min: This game is becoming stretched, City are happy to play on the counter but Wigan have launched a few quick attacks themselves.[LNB]The visitors have to resist playing long ball to Rodallega though who is not going to win an aerial battle against Kompany and Lescott.[LNB]64min: Alcaraz has been superb this evening, he is almost playing as a box-to-box midfielder and is really giving the City defence something to think about, Wigan still the better side.[LNB]61min: City give away another free-kick, this time from Tevez, and Wigan are getting closer.[LNB]City fail to clear Watson's ball in properly and McCarthy's first time strike from the edge of the box is well palmed away by Hart.[LNB]60min: Charles N'Zogbia who was not fit enough to start is now on replacing Moses.[LNB]He has the ability to change this game.[LNB]57min: Watson's free-kick from the flank is a good one but Caldwell just glances it over the bar.[LNB]City have been VERY poor at defending set-pieces this season and this will provide the visitors best chances of scoring.[LNB]Acrobatics: Mario Balotelli fails in his attempt at a bicycle kick, giving away a foul in the process[LNB]56min: Very clumsy from Kompany whose high foot is very late as he makes contact with Cleverley and he is booked.[LNB]53min: Well it's all Wigan in these early stages. Whatever Martinez has said,  his players are sure responding, they are giving this a good go.[LNB]50min: They have another though and Antolin Alcaraz is very unlucky not to get an equaliser.[LNB]The centre-back improvises with a volley 16 yards out that clips off the post and out for a goal kick. Joe Hart was well beaten.[LNB]49min: Needless corner conceded from City after Lescott miscontrols a ball, but Watson's cross from the set-piece is comfortably cleared.[LNB]46min: Worrying stat from OptaJoe for you Wigan fans:[LNB]0 - Wigan have not managed a single shot on target in 135 minutes of Premier League football against Man City so far this term. Impotent.[LNB]Second-half: Teams are back out at Eastlands, no changes as City restart proceedings.[LNB]18.30: As for Mancini he looked far from happy with his team's performance despite holding a lead, and I imagine he will knock a few heads together in that dressing room.[LNB]18.26: But as a manager you can't legislate for that keeping mistake.[LNB]Al Habsi fails to get his leg down to prevent things like that happening and Martinez really needs to find some motivating words for his troops.[LNB]18.23: This is the story of Wigan this season. They compete well in the first part of the game, concede and then struggle to hang on.[LNB]I hate to say it but they are playing with the mentality of a side thinking they are already doomed for the Championship.[LNB]Half-time: Manchester City 1-0 Wigan[LNB]45+1min: For a foul two minutes before, Gary Caldwell is booked for a clumsy challenge on Yaya Toure. Again more kudos to Attwell who allowed advantage and waited for the ball to go out before pulling play back.[LNB]44min: And as this half draws to a close they are heavily defending their own penalty area as City up the tempo. Martinez needs the break to rally his troops.[LNB]41min: And those heads have dropped again. Wigan have competed well but so often this season they lose their concentration after conceding and today is no different.[LNB] Silva lining: David Silva fires City into the lead[LNB]38min: GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 Wigan[LNB]Martinez must be cursing his luck. First Lopez slips while trying to block David Silva's route to goal then the Spaniard's low effort straight at Al Habsi ends up being spilled through the keeper's own legs and into the back of the net. It's Robert Green at the World Cup but 10 times worse.[LNB]37min: Wow a collectors item this. Balotelli is pulled up for a high foot and after a short protest bursts out with a beaming smile, never thought I would see the day.[LNB]35min: Wigan just starting to grow in confidence a bit. They are starting to switch the play and just showing some more nous in attack.[LNB]32min: More cynical play from City as Gareth Barry makes hardly any attempt for the ball as he throws himself in front of a full flight Rodallega down the left. Attwell again delays the thought process and produces a yellow card.[LNB]Rodallega needs some treatment but is soon back on.[LNB]Solid game from the much maligned referee so far.[LNB]30min: Mighty close from Wigan! Some good work from Victor Moses sees his cross poorly cleared by Vincent Kompany straight to McCarthy but in space and only 10 yards out he fires wide across goal. It is the best chance of the match and at the very least he should hit the target.[LNB]27min: There really is no ambition from Wigan to win this game. Every time they get the ball in a promising position there is no players in attacking support and the passes forward are more hopeful than anything.[LNB]24min: Now it's David Silva's turn, this time he dodges two challenges before again firing just wide form the edge of the box.[LNB]23min: Brilliant from Tevez. He picks up the ball 30 yards out before avoiding two challenges as he enters the box, then firing just wide across goal.[LNB]22min: Strange game this, Wigan are not struggling but it always seems to be City on the ball. Quiet evening for both keepers thus far.[LNB] Timed: Wigan's Ben Watson (right) tackles City's Carlos Tevez[LNB]19min: Penalty claim for City after it appears McCarthy handles a loose ball inside the box. replays show it hits his chest though.[LNB]16min: That was nasty. James McCarthy is clattered by Micah Ricahrds with a full on two footed slide tackle and referee Stuart Atwell gave himself a few seconds making a decision there.[LNB]In truth Richards does go for the ball and that is probably what makes his punishment only a yellow card.[LNB]I have seen players be sent off for that though, Ricahrds is a lucky boy, and his smile after he sees the card says it all.[LNB]14min: City are doing the hard stuff. Carlos Tevez splits two Wigan defenders with a neat little pass through for David Silva but the Spaniard's cross in the box is poor and Wigan scramble clear. That final ball has been a bit weak from City early on.[LNB]Moments earlier Rodallega had a shot blocked by an excellent slide from Joleon Lescott inside the box.[LNB]12min: Is that what the visitors will settle for? Tom Cleverley is 25 yards with nobody challenging but instead of picking out a pass he opts for goal and blasts it miles wide and over.[LNB]I don't mind shooting from distance but he hardly bothered to check what was around him.[LNB] No way through: Manchester City's Joleon Lescott (left) challenges Wigan's Hugo Rodallega[LNB]10min: No shots on goal since Balotelli's effort but Wigan can't get outside their own half. Just seems to be a lack of belief from Roberto Martinez's side.[LNB]7min: City with all the ball but they just do not play quick enough with it. Fairly simple and basic defending required from the visitors who are not exactly at breaking point. [LNB]4min: Not a great moment for Wigan. Mario Balotelli leaves Adrian Lopez for dead on the left before his shot is parried behind in an unorthodox fashion by Ali Al Habsi.[LNB]3min: Plenty of empty seats dotted around the ground. Wigan or not, City are still in a title race. Where are you blue Mancs?[LNB]2min: Ben Watson takes the corner but Hugo Rodallega's header is weak as it comfortably loops over the bar.[LNB]1min: The visitors get a corner inside 30 seconds, as Victor Moses cross is deflected behind.[LNB]Kick-off: Wigan get us underway kicking from right-to-left.[LNB]17.28: The usual pre-match 'Right Here Right Now' music is playing from the Eastlands sound system.[LNB]It's up there with the better songs played as 'intros' at Premier League grounds. The teams make their way out onto the pitch.[LNB]17.26: Mancini pre-match:[LNB]'We Love Kolo like a man and like a player and it is a very big disappointment for him and us what has happened. He is not feeling good so it is important that we will try and win for him.[LNB] Out in the cold: Kolo Toure (centre) watches on from the stands[LNB]17.23: The big news around City hasn't been about trophies and title fights, but about the failed drugs test of Kolo Toure.[LNB]At such a crunch point in the season it will be interesting to see how the home side cope not only today, but throughout the rest of the season without one of their first choice centre-backs.[LNB]17.20: Yaya Toure is named in the Manchester City starting line-up to face Wigan at Eastlands this afternoon just 48 hours after it was confirmed brother Kolo had failed a drugs test.[LNB]Vincent Kompany also returns from a bruised hip whilst Nigel de Jong is on the bench after a six-match absence with an ankle injury.[LNB]Bottom of the table at kick-off, Wigan are desperate for a victory and include on-loan midfielder Tom Cleverley, who was ineligible for last weekend's hammering by parent club Manchester United.[LNB]17.17: Team news from Eastlands:[LNB]Man City v WiganMan City: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Vieira, Barry, Silva, Toure Yaya, Balotelli, Tevez. Subs: Taylor, Dzeko, Kolarov, Boateng, Jo, De Jong, Boyata.Wigan: Al Habsi, Lopez, Gary Caldwell, Alcaraz, Figueroa, Watson, Diame, Moses, McCarthy, Cleverley, Rodallega. Subs: Pollitt, Gohouri, Thomas, Di Santo, N'Zogbia, Gomez, Sammon.Referee: Stuart Attwell (Warwickshire)[LNB]17.15: Roberto Mancini has claimed that City are out of the title race. After Arsenal's slip up today he might have to at least delay writing his side's chances off.[LNB]After all a win against Wigan would take them within seven points of the summit and bigger gaps have been overcome.[LNB]Team news coming up.[LNB] Praying for the Champions League: Carlos Tevez's Man City are aiming to compete against Europe's elite[LNB]  Toure ban will hand us a Euro boost, claims Spurs boss RedknappManchester City check out Udinese stars Sanchez and ZapataAll the latest Manchester City news, features and opinionAll the latest Wigan news, features and opinion[LNB]  Explore more:People: Vincent Kompany, Gary Caldwell, Roberto Mancini, Kolo Toure, Ben Watson, Mario Balotelli, Victor Moses, Joleon Lescott, Carlos Tevez, David Silva, Roberto Martinez, James McCarthy, Robert Green, Joe Hart, Edin Dzeko Places: Liverpool
