QPR boss Jim Magilton has expressed his delight at beating off Premier League interest to land Ben Watson on loan from Wigan. The former Crystal Palace midfielder has joined the Rs on a four-month loan switch, although they have the option of extending the deal. Watson only joined the Latics in January and made 10 league appearances under Steve Bruce, but has fallen out of favour under Roberto Martinez. The Loftus Road outfit have beaten off Premier League interest for Watson and Magilton is grateful to chairman Gianni Paladini for finalising the deal. "There were a lot of other big, big clubs in for him, but Gianni and the board have pulled out all the stops, so I'm delighted," he told the club's official website. "Ben will prove to be a fantastic addition. He's got a proven track record in this division, as well as the Premier League, and I'm just delighted. "He's a box-to-box midfielder, who scores goals and puts his boot in - he's got all the attributes that you need to play in that central midfield role."
