Olivier Kapo is set to leave Wigan after being deemed surplus to requirements by manager Roberto Martinez - and wants to play in France.[LNB] The Frenchman initially impressed after following Steve Bruce from Birminham to the DW Stadium in 2008, but made just one appearance as a second-half substitute under Martinez and was loaned out to French side Boulogne in January.[LNB]Boulogne were relegated from Ligue 1 last season, but Kapo was hopeful that he had made a significant impact to persuade another top flight team to sign him.[LNB]"I just want to play football at this stage in my career," said Kapo. "It's good to be back at Wigan, and I have enjoyed seeing everyone again.[LNB]"I kept in touch with a few of the players like Momo (Diame) and Charles (N'Zogbia) while I was away in France.[LNB]"But I know my ability and I need to be playing first-team football."[LNB]Martinez confirmed that Kapo would be leaving the club, highlighting a return to his homeland as his priority.[LNB]"Olivier has expressed a desire to play in France, and we will not try and change his mind," Martinez told the Wigan Observer.
