Latics trial for Macho

Wigan have given goalkeeper Jurgen Macho the opportunity to try and earn a contract. The experienced Austrian is a free agent after leaving AEK Athens earlier in the summer and Roberto Martinez is keen to take a look at him in training. Macho, who spent time with Sunderland and Chelsea earlier in his career, played for Wigan's reserves against Manchester City on Tuesday night. The Latics lost 4-3 but Macho was not at fault for any of the goals and completed the full 90 minutes. Fellow trialist Modeste M'Bami produced an impressive performance in the match, while Olivier Kapo continued his recovery from injury.
