Wigan boss Steve Bruce has been dealt a blow with the news that Amr Zaki faces a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury. The powerful Egyptian picked up the injury playing for his country on Sunday against Zambia. It is expected his rehabilitation will take in the region of three weeks. Zaki netted in the 1-1 draw but had to hobble through the final stages as Egypt had already made their three substitutions. After initially impressing upon moving to The JJB in the summer, Zaki has since struggled for goals but nonetheless his absence is likely to be felt by Latics manager Bruce. Wigan's bid to claim a place in next season's Europa League will be reliant on Mido and Hugo Rodallega providing sufficient firepower between now and the campaign's close.
