Wigan have had a 4million euros bid for Hercules striker Nelson Valdez rejected by the Spanish club, claim reports in Spain on Wednesday.[LNB] Latics were first linked with the Paraguay international last summer whilst he was with Borussia Dortmund, but he opted for a move to Spain and newly-promoted Hercules.[LNB]However, following their relegation from the Primera Liga, Roberto Martinez is reported to be back in for the striker, who netted eight goals in 25 appearances last term.[LNB]Latics, however, must up their offer after been told by Hercules that the striker has a release clause of 5million euros.[LNB]The likes of Getafe and Espanyol are also reported to be weighing up a move for the player, while Russian club FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk are also keeping an eye on the situation.[LNB]Any deal for Valdez, however, will have to wait until after the Copa America, where the striker is on duty with Paraguay.
