Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is scouting wingers as part of ongoing preparations for his next signing of the summer.[LNB] The DW Stadium boss has already spent £3million on a permanent deal for Ali Al Habsi following the former Bolton goalkeeper's successful loan last season.[LNB]Martinez has now turned his attention to midfield and, with Tom Cleverley having returned to Manchester United and Aston Villa target Charles N'Zogbia likely to be sold, wide areas are a priority.[LNB]Chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed that Manchester City fringe player Shaun Wright-Phillips is a target, but Wigan's manager is adopting a more covert approach. [LNB]"It would be a big, big mistake to start talking about all the players who we would love to have in the squad here or the ones we wouldn't like to have," Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post.[LNB]"We have been following a number of players over the past few months, and we're going to carry on doing that.[LNB]"What I can say is I am delighted with the squad we have at the present time, and we are determined to finish the transfer window with a stronger squad than the one we had at the start."[LNB]Martinez added: "Ali was undoubtedly our top priority over the summer, we have got him in the bag and now we move on to the next targets.[LNB]"Tom Cleverley has gone back to Manchester United, which leaves another space in the squad, and replacing him will be our next task.[LNB]"But a lot will depend on what develops over the next three weeks, because there are going to be a few changes about the place - I'm sure about that.[LNB]"There are a couple of players we are trying to re-sign to new deals, while there are going to be some new signings coming in to the squad. [LNB]"Regardless of who comes in, though, what is important is that they improve the squad while at the same time having the same mentality as Ali."
